What is it?

Epidermal leveling, also known as dermaplaning, is a cosmetic procedure that involves manually exfoliating the top layer of the skin to remove dead skin cells andvellus hair (commonly referred to as "peach fuzz"). This procedure is typically performed by a Dermal Clinician using a sterile surgical scalpel.

Epidermal leveling can be beneficial for individuals with certain skin concerns, such as uneven skin tone, mild acne scarring, or clogged pores. How it works

Cleansing: The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, oil, or debris from the surface.

Prepping: A gentle toner or antiseptic solution may be applied to disinfect the skinand prepare it for the procedure.

Exfoliation: Using a precise, feathering motion, the practitioner gently scrapes the surface of the skin at a 45-degree angle. This motion helps remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, dirt, and other impurities.

Hair removal: During the process, vellus hair is also removed, which can leave theskin feeling smoother, without the side effects of thicker or more hair growth.

Moisturisation: Once the exfoliation is complete, a tailored moisturiser or soothing serum is applied to hydrate the skin and minimise any potential irritation.
